The play starts before the Garber Family's annual Hanukkah dinner on the first night of the 8 day holiday. Dot and Bryce live at home with their parents Ruth and Erik. Dot is a second year college student, while Bryce is a recent grad. The two have an older sister named Rachel, who is coming home for the holiday! But she's bringing her boyfriend. Her non-Jewish boyfriend. Which is totally fine, they're totally fine with that, they just would've liked a heads up.

 

Dinner is interrupted by a horrific CNN update about an anti- semitic stabbing in Queens. Tempers flare. Fights occur. Bias' are questioned. Sexualities are revealed. And shit gets real. Will any relationship survive? But more importantly...Will the Garbers ever get to light the Hanukkah candles?!?
